An introduction to Clubhotel Riu Tequila

This hotel's got a lot going for it. First up, there's the pool, surrounded by palm trees and dotted with shady coconut thatch umbrellas. Then there's the beach - a five minute walk through lush tropical gardens and you're standing on the powdery white sands by the Riu Yucatan. If you don't fancy the stroll, there's a shuttle service that'll whisk you down in no time.

The service is great here, too, as is the food. Take breakfast, for example. There's sizzling bacon, eggs made to order, fresh fruit, pastries and more types of cereal than you can shake a spoon at. It's the same story come dinnertime with buffets piled with all sorts of tempting dishes. From salad and pizza to carvery roasts, you'll be spoilt for choice.

On the activities front, there are salsa lessons to get in the Latin swing of things. Fast-paced games of water polo in the pool. And even some introductory scuba diving lessons in the pool to take advantage of.

If that wasn't enough to be going on with, the Riu Tequila is snuggled into the Riu Playacar Resort which means when you've exhausted everything on offer here you can hop across to the Riu Yucatan or the Riu Playacar..

This was the first time we had gone to mexico and we were not disappointed. Riu Tequlia is absolutley amazing, the staff, food, drink, everything is supberb. We did not take our daughter, however the hotel is excellent for kids and we will be taking... more on this review
