Using modern design to reach new heights of luxury, the Four Seasons is a hotel with wow-factor. It's certainly evident from the outside. The boutique feel doesn't stop there. You'll find a waterside restaurant draped in fairy lights. A sexy Shiseido spa – the fifth one in the world and a first for Cyprus. And there's a sleek bar that wouldn't look out of place in downtown New York. All club chairs and backlit curtains of bubbles, it's very modern retro. It's the same story in the bedrooms, they're restful oases with soft cream walls, elegant furnishings and mood lighting. They all come with private balconies and lavish marble bathrooms with a Jacuzzi-style bath big enough for two. And for a special treat you can upgrade to the adults-only garden suites that come with private outdoor whirlpool tubs.

Taking pride of place in the hotel's grounds are two swimming pools. One's a shapely lagoon number with built-in whirlpools and the other is a child-free stretch of turquoise. And bringing a touch of glamour to the poolside are luxurious wooden sunbeds with extra-thick mattresses. You can see the gold sandy beach from here, too, it's virtually at your fingertips. And if you fancy a trip to the town's shops, bars or restaurants, the centre of Limassol is just a 20-minute drive away.

My husband and I stayed at The Four Seasons Hotel, Limassol, Cyprus in October 2007. We had a wonderful time, everything perfect. In fact, this is the best hotel that we have ever stayed in. The location is good with pleasant little local restaurants... more on this review
