The small complex provides a choice of well-appointed accommodation. The smallest villas are open plan with a double bed, and there are larger one-bedroomed villas on offer. Just 15 minutes' drive away, the villas are ideally located for guests to discover the unique charms of Nauplion. At the bottom of the steep hill is the farming village of Neo Roneo with its Kafenion and taverna and not much else so nothing but the odd tractor will disturb your peace as you sip coffee opposite the village church.
Standing in groups of three, these 12 villas are set overlooking orange and olive groves in the heart of Greek farming country with spectacular rural views. You are spoilt for choice for day trips from this location. Nauplion is a short drive away and the villas are also within easy driving distance of several major archaeological sites, including the wonders of Mycenae, Epidavros, Ancient Corinth and that modern feat of engineering – the Corinth Canal. If you get too hot from so much sightseeing the Nauplion town beach is very convenient for a dip or drive just past the Palimidi to the wonderful bay of Karathonas. Beautiful beaches score the coastline of the Argoloid and also on the opposite side of the Gulf you will find many, sometimes deserted, sandy beaches to spend the day.
Stately Nauplion, the first capital of Modern Greece, has seen many rulers and many conflicts over the centuries, but today it is the two Venetian periods of rule which are most in evidence. Exploring the narrow streets and churches is a wonderful way to spend a day or why not take a little boat out to the Bourtzi – a small fortress in the middle of the harbour. Venetian houses still stand proud in the town, and the Palamidi fort, built during their second occupation in the 17th century, is a stunning testament to the tactical importance of this town, as well as the fierce battles which were fought over it. The large and well-preserved fort is a fascinating place to wander round, with eight bastions and many hidden walkways, designed to confuse any would-be conquerors. The harbour itself has its own attractions, with fortifications and Venetian buildings still visible, as well as pretty cafes and tavernas looking over the water to the Bortzi in the centre of the harbour.
